Types of Venetian Plaster
This is a very old and time-tested form of wall decoration. The different types of Venetian plaster are:
- Multi-Colored Plaster - In this there are 3 main classes based on content- cement, gypsum and lime plaster. Lime plaster provides a smooth finish and is considered to be a green option. Gypsum and cement plaster are typically used for plastering of drywalls and plasterboard. Different additives can be used for variations in color, texture and elasticity.
- Marmarino - This lime is made from Italian river rock and is very strong and durable. It is available in a range of finishes such as high shine and coarse finish etc. It’s a perfect finish for ceilings, columns, feature walls etc.
- Stucco - This particular Venetian plaster technique is used in exterior wall finishes. It is also a very durable material that can last for up to 10 years. It’s available in a range of textures and colors and is quite suitable for areas where there is excessive moisture - in fact; it tends to harden when it comes in contact with water.
